Holloway Road is one of the longest and busiest traffic arteries in London. The road has the character and scale of a motorway connector with four lanes, fenced median, and petrol stations. Nonetheless, a lively mixture of uses and cultures is found along the road, accommodated by a heterogeneous and unplanned structure. The absence of city planning in this case provided an opportunity for a contemporary form of urbanism. The project documents the meeting of urban extremes and architectural chance, through video and a collection of cards that maps the relationship between street life and the width of the pavement.
