The work of Ted Smith and his associates in San Diego is a 25 year old research and build project, that offers a radical model for living, working and building in the city. While the model of the architect developer now has widespread currency, Smith, a pioneer of that model, uses the freedom it provides to look beyond the norms and to invent new building types.
