Antje Buchholz is a practicing architect in Berlin with a particular interest in everyday urban practice. She studied at the HdK Berlin and the Architectural Association London and graduated in 1996. Since 1996 she has been contributing to the work of BAR. She has also worked on urban regeneration projects in Berlin, including the redevelopment of a large scale social housing project in Berlin Lankwitz (with Baufrösche Kassel). She worked on various research projects focusing on informal economy and the use of public space in the cities of Naples, London and Warsaw. She was visiting critic at several schools of architecture in Germany and taught in Urban Anthropology at the Freie Universität Berlin.
Jack Burnett-Stuart is a practicing architect living in Los Angeles. He studied at the Architectural Association London from 1984 to 1990 and lived in Berlin from 1991 to 1996. He was board member of the Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design from 1998 to 2003. He has taught at SCI-Arc and Woodbury University, Burbank, and at the University of Queensland, Brisbane. His research focuses on the work of Ludwig Leo and the watershed and native plants of Los Angeles. He was co-founder of the group BAR in 1992.
Jürgen Patzak-Poor is a practicing architect in Berlin. He studied at the HdK, Berlin and the Architectural Association London, graduating in 1991. Since 1996 he has taught in Architecture and Urban Anthropology at the Freie Universität, Berlin; at Oxford Brookes, England; at Queensland University, Brisbane, Australia; and the Technical University in Berlin. He was Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Ulster School of Art and Design, Belfast, from 2003 to 2007. His research and practice focuses on urban regeneration and architecture as a social art. He was co-founder of the group BAR in 1992. He worked on a number of building projects and won several prizes in urban competitions in Germany.
Michael Matuschka is a practicing architect in Berlin with experience in interior design. He studied design in Essen and Vienna and architecture at the HdK, Berlin, where he graduated in 1994. He is co-founder of the group BAR in 1992. His interest in practice is urban regeneration and the application experimental building methods, such as self-built methods. He worked on a number of building projects and won several urban design competitions in Germany.
